Ask Governor Martinez to Sponsor the AJC’s “Governors United Against BDS” Campaign

On July 8th we requested that you go to the American Jewish Committee website to urge Governor Susana Martinez to join the Governors United Against BDS campaign.  So far 17 officials (governors and the mayor of Washington, DC) have signed on, but not yet our NM governor.

If you’ve already taken this action, thank you.  If not, please take 30 seconds now to participate.  Click here to contact the Governor.

Stand up for Israel.  Do this mitzvah before Shabbat.

FYI, Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales signed onto the AJC Mayors anti-BDS campaign back in June (see our June 6th posting here).  It’s not too late to thank him:  call (505) 955-6590 or email jmgonzales@santafenm.gov.

Background

The American Jewish Committee has launched Governors United Against BDS.  Here is what they’ve urged us to do:

AJC recently launched Governors United Against BDS, a proactive initiative that puts state leaders on record condemning BDS and reaffirming support for Israel as a vital U.S. ally and important economic partner.

[Supporters are now from 17 locales including] governors from Arkansas, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine, and Utah have already joined campaign co-chairs Andrew Cuomo of New York, Greg Abbott of Texas, and Daniel Malloy of Connecticut in this bipartisan effort.

You have the power to act. It takes just one minute to thank your governor for joining the campaign, or urge him/her to do so today.

With a few clicks you can speak out against injustice and stand up for peace.Let’s make a powerful statement that support for Israel remains steadfast—state by state, coast to coast.

Using the links above, it took us only 30 seconds to send a letter to Governor Martinez, urging her to join the campaign.  Governors who have joined are shown here.
