Link to the Soroka Medical Center Talk; other info on the war.

As mentioned in our previous post, Soroka Medical Center’s CEO, Dr. Shlomi Codish, spoke through Israel Bonds on October 19.  You can see his presentation through this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTJhGaVvHCQ).  His presentation starts at approximately the 13 minute mark.  Well worth the viewing.

In our last post we also mentioned the AIPAC website (aipac.org) for continuing to hold our elected officials to Israel’s side.  and to get up-to-date information on the war.

Three additional good sources (among many) for information on the war include (with some excerpts):

Jewish Insider (jewishinsider.com).  From Oct 23:

Posters of the hostages line Dizengoff— but unlike the same posters plastered in cities around the U.S., these remain up, unmarked by graffiti. No one would dare tear down the posters in a city so weighed down by grief. Two weeks after the Oct. 7 attacks, families are still learning the fate of their loved ones, as officials work day in and day out to identify the remains of more than 1,400 people.

Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (jinsa.org) .  From Oct 23 Gemunder Center:

Despite growing anticipation and pressure, Israel has yet to launch a full-scale major ground offensive into Gaza.  Two parallel lines of effort likely explain the delay, with one being, as Israeli media sources and The New York Times reported over the weekend, a coordinated effort with the United States to boost the latter’s force posture in the region in light of increased Iranian proxy attacks over the past week.

A second line of effort is the campaign to free hostages from Hamas captivity, two of which–American nationals who were taken from the Israeli kibbutz of Nahal Oz in the October 7 attack–were freed on October 20 after mediation from the government of Qatar.

The New York Times also reported on October 20 that U.S. officials are worried about “harsh Israeli tactics in an expected ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza that would compel Hezbollah to enter the war,” suggesting that certain members of the Biden administration view Israeli operational restraint as necessary to avoid regional escalation.

Times of Israel (timesofisrael.com).  From Oct 23:

The Israeli government on Monday screened for 200 members of the foreign press some 43 minutes of harrowing scenes of murder, torture and decapitation from Hamas’s October 7 onslaught on southern Israel, in which over 1,400 people were killed, including raw videos from the terrorists’ bodycams.

The government said it had decided to show journalists part of its collected documentation in order to dispel what a spokesperson characterized as “a Holocaust-denial-like phenomenon happening in real-time,” as doubts have been raised around the world about some of the most horrific of Hamas’s atrocities.
