Want to make “the Squad” one-third smaller?

Did you know that www.stopantisemitism.org voted Member of Congress from Minnesota Ilhan Omar the 2019 anti-semite of the year.  If you don’t know about Omar you can watch this short video as to why she is considered the biggest antisemite in Congress:

Pro-Israel America vetted Omar’s opposition, Antone Melton-Meaux.  They state:

Melton-Meaux has a strong understanding of the value of the U.S.-Israel alliance as a strategic partner in the Middle East. He has made clear that he opposes the anti-Israel Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement, values Israel as a democratic ally of the United States, and supports a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.

“For decades, the United States and Israel have represented a strong, united alliance in both the Middle East and beyond. In a region where too many people live under oppression and without basic freedoms, Israel has long stood as a beacon of liberal democracy.”

While SFMEW doesn’t endorse, support, give money to, or rate specific politicians, we do recommend that we all use our resources to support those whose policies and values match our own.  While Congress has a lesser role in foreign affairs than the administration (see the Spring, 2020 New Mexico Jewish Link article you can read here on page 4, which encourages us to consider the US-Israel relationship as our first priority in voting for president), it plays a defining role in allocating funds for and encouraging US policy related to foreign relations.

Whether you are watching the new season of Fauda that started this past week, joining Zoom Jewish history on Yom HaShoah tomorrow night (see below), or finishing up “Unorthodox,” pick up the remote, click pause, and go to the website Pro-Israel AmericaSpend a few dollars supporting pro-Israel Democrats or Republicans in key races – either those challenging anti-Israel incumbents, or those pro-Israel incumbents in tough races.

You don’t need to have a lot of money to help support pro-Israel candidates and incumbents for Congress.  Simply become a member of the non-partisan Pro-Israel America and you can donate to one or many pro-Israel candidates or incumbents through its candidate website.  It’s fast and easy and you can direct to whom you want your money to go.  You can go onto the Pro-Israel website and donate to a number of other Democrats or Republicans running in key races all at once.  Or you can re-visit the website during this election year and donate when you have a few extra dollars or are further motivated.

Another non-partisan PAC that contributes to pro-Israel candidates is the Washington PAC, run by Morrie Amitay, former executive director of AIPAC from 1975 to 1981.  If you are strictly partisan, then you can contribute to the Democratic Majority for Israel, or the Republican Jewish Coalition PAC.

But whatever your leaning, take action, contribute, be an activist.
