What to do while everything else is closed down and you are self-quarantining…

There’s nothing left on the grocery store or Sam’s Club shelves.  You’ve caught up on your reading and 147th time watching Seinfeld episode #57 (your favorite).  That list you put together over the past few years for “around the house” (you know the one – clean out guest room closet, re-organize the storage room, hang up the tools in the garage, insulate the attic, etc.) – well, golly, you worked through it.

Going stir crazy yet?

Now’s the time to brush up on your arms to combat anti-Israel propaganda.  Here are some suggestions:

  1. Browse through past SFMEW blog postings:

2. Systematically study other pro-Israel resources listed on our webpage:

3. Check out the newest SFMEW webpage by Brian Yapko on the archeological and historical record of the continuous Jewish presence in the Land of Israel for 3500 years.

4. Write a letter to the editor or op-ed to the New Mexican about something good Israel is doing (see here for guidance).  A lot of those “good things” can be found at Good News from Israel.

5. Read the ADL’s new resource about antisemitism, Antisemitism Uncovered – A Guide to Old Myths in a New Era.  “Each chapter of the guide addresses a well-known antisemitic trope, including that Jews have too much power, are disloyal, killed Jesus, and use Christian blood in religious rituals. The guide also addresses Holocaust denial, anti-Zionism and the delegitimization of Israel.” (from the JNS)

6.  You may have an opinion about the Trump peace plan.  But have you actually read the whole thing?  If not, perhaps you should – now’s your chance.  It may not change your mind, but at least you will have a fully informed opinion. Click:  Peace-to-Prosperity-0120.  Here’s an interesting viewpoint by Natan Sharansky and Gil Troy:  The Promise of the Trump Peace Plan, Wall Street Journal, February 11, 2020, as well as this well-informed evaluation from Robert Satloff of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

7.  Read up on the actual Israel-related voting records of the presidential candidates.

Stay safe and healthy.
